Originally illustrated for my 2024 calendar, this illustration attempts to capture the misty and mysterious ring of Brodgar on Orkney, the third largest stone circle in the British Isles. An Orkney folktale tells of how the stones were once dancing giants, who were turned to stone when the sun rose.
